Worshipful Brother Chriss L. Green Jr., 1926-2017

Brethren, it is with great sadness we announce the passing of Worshipful Brother Chriss L. Green, Jr. He was a Navy Veteran of both WWII and the Korean conflict. He was a life long resident of Kansas City and Independence, however, he spent the last 12 years with family in San Benito, TX. He was a retired Teamster who worked for Yellow Freight. Chriss is survived by 2 sons, Mike and Jerry, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at Mt. Washington Cemetery, 614 Brookside Ave., Independence, MO, on Tuesday, June 13th at 11:00am.

WB Green was a 58 year member of Raytown Lodge #391. He served as Worshipful Master in 1968, and capably served as lodge Secretary for 24 years. He was also a member of the Eastern Star and Shrine. Please keep WB Green’s family in your thoughts and prayers.

WB Robert S. Bailey, 1922-2017

Raytown Lodge is sad to learn of the recent passing of Worshipful Brother Robert S. Bailey, who died on February 16, 2017. Worshipful Brother Bailey was initiated in Raytown Lodge #391 on October 10, 1964, passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on November 10, and raised to the degree of Master Mason on December 8, 1964. He served as Worshipful Master of Raytown Lodge in 1975 and was recognized for 50 years of Masonic service on November 17, 2014. Please keep the family of Worshipful Brother Bailey in your thoughts and prayers.

Jack B. Colvin, 1923-2017

Brethren, with sorrow we report that Brother Jack B. Colvin passed away on March 31, 2017. Brother Colvin was a 51 year member of Raytown Lodge #391. He was most recently residing in Florida. Services for Brother Colvin will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, KCMO. Visitation at 1:00pm with service at 2:00. Please keep Brother Colvin’s family in your thoughts and prayers.

Passing of long time Brother

We are sad to report the passing of Brother John Parkinson Jr. Brother Parkinson was a 50+ year member of Raytown Lodge and was also a member of the Kansas City Scottish Rite and Ararat Shrine. Brother Parkinson served the community for many years as a member of the Kansas City Missouri Police Department and later with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Lee’s Summit Police Department.

Services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, August 22nd at 10:00am at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Chapel. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 21st from 5-8pm also at the Chapel.

Please join us in remembering Brother Parkinson, his service to the fraternity and our community, and extending our sympathy and respects to his family.

My Brothers – It is my sad duty to share that we have lost another Brother. Brother John Owen Mason passed away Saturday May 16, 2015. He was initiated into Raytown Masonic Lodge #391 on April 28, 1976. He was passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft on July 28,1976. Brother Mason was Raised to the degree of Master Mason on September 18,1976. Brother Mason served our Nation’s military honorably in the United States Marine Corps in WWII. Brother Mason will be cremated. His memorial service will be held Tuesday May 26, 2015at 11:00 AM at Langsford Funeral Home located at 115 SW 3rd St. Lee’s Summit, MO. 64063. There will be Military Honors at the end of the memorial services. Brother Mason will be interred in Vermillion, Kansas. At this time, we do not know who will be performing the Masonic Service.
