Greetings, Brethren!  A quick Trestleboard update on happenings at Raytown Lodge No. 391.  We will try to publish more regularly in the future.

Third Degree:
The lodge will confer a third degree on Thursday, April 20.  We will meet at 7pm with dinner before.  Please come out and help raise our newest Master Mason!

MOCHIP Event:
The lodge is sponsoring a MOCHIP event at Raytown High School on Saturday, April 22.  Setup and training is at 9am and the event runs from 10am-2pm.  We need volunteers to assist.  If you can assist please sign up at the signup.com event at https://signup.com/go/zCjMMJv or if you are unable to use the online signup you can contact RWB Tony Mesa or RWB Rick Kingcade.

Regional Schools of Instruction:
RWB Rick Kingcade, Regional Grand Lecturer, will be hosting a series of Regional Schools of Instruction, open to all Master Masons, at the following:

Fireworks:
This year Raytown Lodge will again be operating the fireworks tent on our parking lot.  This is our major fundraiser for the year and we rely on our members to help staff the tent and make sure to maximize our fundraising.  Look for further emails with sign-up information soon.

Barbecue Contest:
WB Steve Holbrook advises we will again have our annual BBQ Contest, this year on Saturday, 8/19. Plan your entry!  More information to follow.

Lodge Ritual Award:
Raytown Lodge has successfully completed our Bronze and Silver ritual award examinations, and has completed the first section of the Gold ritual award.  We have three more sections to complete. We will need the help of the entire lodge to complete this.  It is a high honor and demonstrates the commitment to ritual of the members of Raytown Lodge.  Last year, out of 292 lodges, Raytown Lodge was the only lodge in the state to achieve the Gold award!  We intend to do it again this year.

Family Pot Luck Dinner:
At the second stated meeting each month (3^rd Thursday, at 6pm) the lodge has a family pot luck dinner before the meeting.  Spouses, families and guests are invited to join the lodge members for dinner, get to know each other and share fellowship and hospitality.  We get a good turnout but would like it to be even better!

If you haven’t attended lodge in a while we would love to see you. If you have forgotten passwords, signs, etc., that isn’t a worry, as there are many members present who would be happy to help you knock off the rust.  The lodge needs your participation and support to survive and thrive.  Come out and see your brothers!  We meet the 1^st and 3^rd Thursdays each month, year round.  Dinner is at 6pm and the lodge opens at 7pm.

5^th July 2021

Brethren –

It gives me great pleasure to announce that our 2021 fireworks sale has concluded and has done so as a great success!  Owing both to the hard work and dedication of the Masons and family members of our lodge and our associate lodges, and more than a smidgen of Providence, sales this year were improved 58% over last year (and last year was a very good year)!

My deepest, most heartfelt gratitude goes out first to the Almighty, from Whom all good things originate, and to the team who persevered through rain and heat to realize this accomplishment!  Through your efforts we have achieved (and exceeded!) our goals for this project.  All the big stuff – and almost all the little stuff – was sold out by 6:00 p.m. and, kindly assisted by Bill and Brian Lamanno, the closing crew were all done and gone before the sun set on the 4^th of July. 

I also wish to praise you all for the wonderful customer-service given our customers during this project.  Of the hundreds and hundreds of people who came through the tent during the week, none left disgruntled.  The few issues that arose from error were quickly resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.  It was truly a pleasure to witness, and I thank you!

Given that there has been no significant change in the COVID-19 situation, we will be canceling the January 7th, 2021 regular communication, and reassess again in advance of the one scheduled for January 21st.

Raytown Lodge #391 AF&AM

Greetings, Brethren!

With so many of our Masonic activities on indefinite hold, I’d like to remind everyone that we are still conducting our stated communications on first and third Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., with social-distanced dinner preceding.  As well, we also continue our study club on the Wednesday evenings before each meeting, and study sessions on the other Wednesdays too.  We conduct these in compliance with the edicts from Grand Lodge and Jackson County Health Department.  When the restrictions are eventually lifted, we will have a lot of degree work to do and we want to keep our ritual sharp, so all who are well and able are encouraged to come and join us!

At our next stated communication on Thursday, 19 November 2020, we will be discussing ideas for our Lodge to remain active – both amongst ourselves, and in the community –  and we’d love to have you bring your ideas!
